LOVE OUR HOMELESS NEIGHBORS
We have an obligation, not merely to feed our homeless neighbors, but to help them to find permanent solutions to their housing situation. There are many great agencies working toward that goal. Here are some opportunities for you to get involved:
HOMELESSNESS 101 TRAINING. TBA - Come and understand the misunderstandings associated with homelessness in our community as well as the latest statistics. (Taught several times a year).
UNITED TO END HOMELESSNESS. A united countywide effort to end homelessness. Click here to sign the petition.
ONE CHURCH IN ORANGE HOMELESS NEIGHBOR INITIATIVE. The Homeless Neighbor Initiative meets every 5th Tuesday of the Month from 1-3pm. To connect on facebook, click here! Contact info@theBeacon.church if you're interested in attending.
HOMELESS MEMORIAL SERVICE. Dec. 21 @ Christ Cathedral

Safe Families for Children is designed to help people in churches to establish Safe Families teams.
These teams help families who are in a crisis situation where it would really help the parent(s) if a family would take their kids for days, weeks, or month, out of the goodness of their heart, while a team comes alongside the parent in crisis with support, prayer and practical help to aid the parent through the crisis situation. The crisis can be medical, situational, homelessness, a parent needing to go into rehab, etc.
Since Safe Families was created in the Chicago area in 2003, over 9000 children have been hosted, and 95% of them go back home to their parents.
