LOVE OUR FAMILIES

Family is the cornerstone to our communities. We understand that some families need more resources than others to succeed. It's our goal to provide help for those families in order for them to thrive.

Millions of children worldwide are growing up without biological parents. In California, there are nearly 60,000 children who need a home for a short time or a lifetime—the number has tripled in the last 20 years.

The statistics are staggering, but God has a loving plan for each child, and His plan includes us. Compassion and involvement are our response to the love God has shown us.

Here in Orange County there are over 2,000 children in the foster care system. Therefore there is a significant need for loving and trustworthy individuals, couples, and families to help care for these hurting and often forgotten children.

Our God, from your sacred home you take care of the orphans… you find families for those who are lonely. Psalm 68:5-6 CEV

Safe Families for Children is designed to help people in churches to establish Safe Families teams.

These teams help families who are in a crisis situation where it would really help the parent(s) if a family would take their kids for days, weeks, or month, out of the goodness of their heart, while a team comes alongside the parent in crisis with support, prayer and practical help to aid the parent through the crisis situation. The crisis can be medical, situational, homelessness, a parent needing to go into rehab, etc.

Since Safe Families was created in the Chicago area in 2003, over 9000 children have been hosted, and 95% of them go back home to their parents.
